Special Zoo Events

Tulsa Zoo hosts a number of events throughout the year that raise money for many of our important projects. No matter what type of “party animal” you are we are certain you will have a fantastic time at one of our top-notch fundraising or educational events

In addition, the Tulsa Zoo is truly America’s Favorite Zoo, welcoming more than 500,000 visitors annually. The zoo stands as a community leader in conservation, education and recreation. A perfect forum for reaching a diverse audience, Tulsa Zoo offers tremendous visibility, promotion and influence at all of our events. From comprehensive sponsorship packages to maximum branding opportunities, we can fit just about any marketing need.

WALTZ on the Wild Side

WALTZ on the Wild Side is the Tulsa Zoo’s premier fundraising event.  Over two decades strong and better than ever, WALTZ is responsible for building most of the major projects at the zoo.  From the Chimpanzee Connection, Elephant Encounter, Penguin Exhibit, Children’s Zoo and the new Helmerich Sea Lion Cove, WALTZ supporters have helped this zoo continue to grow year after year!  This one-of-a-kind event is every third Friday in June from 7pm to Midnight. The zoo closes for the day to prepare for this event.

ZooRun

Over 40 years and going strong, ZooRun has become a signature event of the zoo and as the second oldest race in the city, it has become a Tulsa tradition.  This event has grown in size and prestige over the years and has clearly become a staple for serious runners, students and families alike.  With a 5k, 10k, 1 mile Fun Run and Tiger Challenge, there is a pace for everyone!  This year’s race will take place on October 5, 2013.

HallowZOOeen

Get two free tickets to this event when you buy or renew your Zoo Friends membership in October 2012.

HallowZOOeen, held annually October 27 – 31, is a premier spooky (but not-too scary) trick-or-treat event for the whole family! The zoo offers an alternative to traditional Halloween activities and gives more than 15,000 children each year a safe place to enjoy the holiday! Activities include Goblin Stops full of treats, a “Haunted Train Ride” around the zoo, carnival-style games in the Pumpkin Patch Playroom, a haymaze, face-painting and much more!
