Special Zoo Events

Tulsa Zoo hosts a number of events that raise money for many of our important projects. No matter what type of party animal you are we are certain you will have a fantastic time at one of our top-notch fundraising or educational events.

Welcoming more than 550,000 visitors annually, the Tulsa Zoo stands as a community leader in conservation, education and recreation. A perfect forum for reaching a diverse audience, the zoo offers tremendous visibility, promotion and influence at all of our events. From comprehensive sponsorship packages to maximum branding opportunities, we can fit just about any marketing need.

WALTZ on the Wild Side

WALTZ on the Wild Side is the Tulsa Zoo’s premier fundraising event. More than two decades strong, WALTZ provides funding for most of the major projects at the zoo.  From the Chimpanzee Connection, Elephant Encounter, Penguin Exhibit, Children’s Zoo and Helmerich Sea Lion Cove, WALTZ supporters have helped this zoo continue to grow year after year. This one-of-a-kind event is every third Friday in June from 7 p.m. to midnight. The zoo closes for the day to prepare.

St. John ZooRun presented by New Balance Tulsa

More than 40 years and going strong, ZooRun is the second-oldest race in the city and has become a Tulsa tradition. This event has grown in size and prestige over the years as a staple for serious runners, students and families alike. With a 5k, 10k and St. John 1 mile Fun Run, there is a pace for everyone. This year’s race will take place on Oct. 3, 2015.

HallowZOOeen, October 27-31, is a premier spooky (but not-too scary) trick-or-treat event for the whole family. The zoo offers an alternative to traditional Halloween activities to give more than 15,000 children each year a safe place to enjoy the holiday. Activities include Goblin Stops full of treats, a Haunted Train Ride around the zoo, carnival-style games in the Pumpkin Patch Playroom, a hay maze, face-painting and much more.
