ZooRun 2009 - 40th Annual.. Presented by New Balance Tulsa

Now in its 40th year, ZooRun has become a signature event of the zoo and as the second oldest race in the city, it has become a Tulsa tradition.  This event has grown in size and prestige over the years and has clearly become a staple for serious runners, students and families alike.  With a 5k, 10k and family fun run, there is a pace for everyone!  With the recent success of this race, we expect 3,000 runners to stampede their way through zoo in 2009!

Highlights from previous races include an amazing post race hospitality tent including refreshments from Whole Foods, Java Daves, Great Harvest Bread, and Taste of the Wild Catering!  This year’s event will feature all new “Green Race” aspects that will make Tulsa Zoo Run Tulsa’s Greenest Race!

Tulsa Zoo Run‘s one-mile fun run is the most unique run in Tulsa with the entire race enclosed on zoo grounds! School groups have the opportunity to receive $1 back per runner as well as trophies for their school.  Click here for more school group information!

ZooRun is certified by the United States of America Track and Field Association (USATF), and was ranked as the 6th largest race in Oklahoma.  ZooRun dollars benefit ongoing improvements of animal habitats at the Tulsa Zoo including a shade structure over the Asian Elephant Demonstration yard, new flooring in both the Aldabra tortoise and flamingo exhibit plus much more.

This event will be supported by local media coverage, advertising and on-site signage.  Exposure will include the Tulsa area media market, 13,000 member households of Tulsa Zoo Friends, 1,500 event attendees and up to 20,000 regular admission zoo guests the two weeks prior to the event.
